I am never out of words or tone to share my story. As a matter of fact, if there’s anything I was ever known for before entertainment writing, it was sharing personal stories. Anybody who knew me from uni. will nod to this. This has been my life until paper chasing led me into writing for media houses, PR firms, record labels, and music brands. (Why does this sound like a criminal confession?)
I would admit to barely writing personal pieces as work took different forms for me. You know that feeling when I get to be confronted that I’ve stopped writing. I swallow the hurt and take the pain to respond that what I’ve been writing has changed. The good news is that I still have readers who are interested in my personal writings as well as those who are interested in my work.
Embarking on this newsletter journey has juiced me back to more personal writing, and as I promised in the previous email, it is about to get even more intimate with me.
Before I go into today’s story, please believe that what you’ve read was written just as though I am giving you straight up gist about me, and we can both call it EXCLUSIVE because I owe it to no one to explain my drift in writing. The usual deal is to put out a new post on my website and direct my audience to it, but here I am divulging my essence to you.
So now, let’s get to the story
I have never had a proper official headshot until this recent one.
I was done with my hired work for the day and spent the residue of time dedicated to putting together my content when it dawned on me to make a post of my new headshot because it indeed meant a lot. I could have easily waved it off or procrastinated, saying I would share later, but I am happy I got to do this now. It’s been a fulfilling journey in my history of lifestyle and fashion photo shoots that turned into profile pictures, and then stubbornly passed for headshots.
THE FIRST EVER SHOOT for my profile was 7 years ago when I launched my blog on a paid domain (www.saeedahwits.com).
The most recent one was a fashion shoot in 2020 that was not originally intended for my profile, but I found it unconventionally fitting for my profile and went with it for years until I decided to shoot an actual headshot this year.
COMING TO BE: a lot has changed from my first-ever shoot to the new one. I found my purpose as a passionate writer and thought the niches I chose to blog about were final. I went from being an intern entertainment blog writer to becoming a music publicist. And I can tell you that after this cycle of growth, this is not even permanent. I can bet I will be making this type of post in another entirely different position in years to come. I can’t or will not boast of a full grasp of my purpose yet, but I am equipped and prepared by God to become a greater version of who I am now.
From getting my first-ever writing job in the music niche through a series of experiences that have now made it important for me to have a proper professional headshot to go with my brand, head on over to read more of my new headshot story HERE.

This story of growth is very evident and I am taking this minute to appreciate the beauty of my journey, even though I am hastened by the thoughts of what needs to be done…
Share your story with me too; I care to know.
Thank you so much for coming along. Please keep your hands locked with mine, we have a long way to go together.
Heyyy Babyyyyy,
OMO!! Saeedah, you are aging backward. You look so pretty in all the shots, one can barely tell that the pictures were taken 7years apart. Keep being beautiful.
I'm so happy for your growth, you've been a light to yourself and your friends ( I can say you've been a light to me). May God grant you all the happiness and prosperity that you deserve. I love you 🥰. Ramadan Mubarak
